Very few of us, not being engineers, really understand the "pulse" and the needed backpressure to make a 2 stroke work to maximum advantage. I'll stick with the manufactures "pipe" and those of trusted aftermarket suppliers to know the engineering. I remember fitting a vacuum cleaner hose as an exaust to my Cushman scooter, only to throw a rod, break the camshaft and really trash the machine.....but it did sound good on that last run....
